How verification works

What we check before a tradeswoman's listing goes live, and what each badge on her profile means.

Before a listing goes live

Every tradeswoman applies with her details and documents. A real person at The Women's Auto Academy reviews each application. Nothing is published until we approve it.

What the badges mean

  • ID checked — we've seen photo ID that matches her name.
  • Qualifications checked — we've seen certificates for the trade she lists.
  • Insurance checked — we've seen current public liability insurance.
  • Trade body — she's a member of a relevant trade body (for example, Gas Safe for gas work).

Keeping it up to date

Insurance and some qualifications expire. We ask tradeswomen to upload renewals, and we may pause a listing if documents go out of date.

What verification doesn't cover

Checks reduce risk but can't guarantee every job. Always agree the work and price in writing, and read our Safety centre. If something goes wrong, tell us.
