What “Verified” means
Before a listing goes live, our team checks the documents a tradeswoman sends us. The ticks on her profile show exactly which checks we've done:
- ID — we've seen photo ID matching her name.
- Qualification — we've seen a relevant certificate.
- Insurance — we've seen in-date public liability insurance.
- Trade body — such as Gas Safe, where it applies.
Verification is a snapshot, not a guarantee of workmanship. Always use your own judgement too.
Before the job
- Get a quote in writing, including what's included and what isn't.
- Don't pay a large deposit upfront. A small amount for materials is normal.
- Ask to see ID and the qualifications relevant to your job.
- For gas work, check the Gas Safe Register.
If a job goes badly
- Talk to her calmly first. Most problems can be fixed.
- Keep photos, messages and receipts.
- Citizens Advice can help with disputes.
- Tell us — leave an honest review, or report it if it's serious.
Reviews, blocking and reporting
You can review a tradeswoman about a week after she accepts your enquiry. If anyone makes you uncomfortable, use Block this person or Report on her profile or your enquiry. Blocking is silent, and the person you report is never told who reported them.
