Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about finding and contacting a tradeswoman on Rose & Hammer.
Is Rose & Hammer free for customers?
Yes. Searching, saving favourites and sending enquiries are all free.
Do you book jobs or take payments?
No. We're a directory. Once a tradeswoman accepts your enquiry, you arrange the job and payment directly with her.
How do I contact a tradeswoman?
Open her profile and send an enquiry describing the job. She'll see your first name, the job and your general area. If she accepts, she'll share her contact details with you.
Why can't I see her phone number?
To keep everyone safe and stop spam, contact details are only shared once she accepts your enquiry.
How many enquiries can I send?
Up to 5 a day. Enquiries that aren't answered within 7 days expire, and we'll let you know.
When can I leave a review?
About a week after a tradeswoman accepts your enquiry, we'll invite you to review her. Only customers with an accepted enquiry can leave a review.
How are tradeswomen checked?
We review ID, qualifications and insurance before a listing goes live.
What if something goes wrong?
Use the report button on a profile, review or enquiry, or contact us. In an emergency, call 999.
